Eddy Current Level 3
PREREQUISITE: Registrants must have successfully completed a Level 2 Eddy Current course
in accordance with CGSB or SNT-TC-1A.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES: This course is intended to present the necessary information as a
foundation on which to build a successful management career. CGSB defines Level 3 personnel
as, "fully qualified personnel who are able to assume full responsibility for an NDT test
facility and staff".
COURSE OUTLINE:
- Interpreting specifications and codes, designating the particular test methods
and techniques to be used.
- Interpreting indications and evaluating the test part in accordance with the
applicable acceptance criteria.
- Managing NDT test projects.
- Instructing and supervising personnel in the correct and safe use of NDT test
equipment.
- Instructing and supervising personnel in the correct choice and application of NDT
testing techniques and the proper collection and reporting of inspection data.
- Assessing the applicability of an NDT test for a particular inspection application weighed
against the advantages of other nondestructive test methods.
NOTE: Participants are requested to have a calculator capable of scientific notation.
Safety shoes are mandatory for all laboratory work.
