Eddy Current Level 3

PREREQUISITE: Registrants must have successfully completed a Level 2 Eddy Current course in accordance with CGSB or SNT-TC-1A.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES: This course is intended to present the necessary information as a foundation on which to build a successful management career. CGSB defines Level 3 personnel as, "fully qualified personnel who are able to assume full responsibility for an NDT test facility and staff".

COURSE OUTLINE:
  1. Interpreting specifications and codes, designating the particular test methods and techniques to be used.
  2. Interpreting indications and evaluating the test part in accordance with the applicable acceptance criteria.
  3. Managing NDT test projects.
  4. Instructing and supervising personnel in the correct and safe use of NDT test equipment.
  5. Instructing and supervising personnel in the correct choice and application of NDT testing techniques and the proper collection and reporting of inspection data.
  6. Assessing the applicability of an NDT test for a particular inspection application weighed against the advantages of other nondestructive test methods.

NOTE: Participants are requested to have a calculator capable of scientific notation. Safety shoes are mandatory for all laboratory work.
