Happy New Year everyone! The Ontario Chapter Christmas Party, December 15th, 2007 was another resounding success.  There was plenty of dancing, fabulous music, lots of gifts from Santa and of course the meal had its usual flavour of nothing but spectacular.  Thank you to Judy Stait for all the effort she puts forth each year in helping Santa's elves with the gifts.

Seeing colleagues out of the office, together in a casual, relaxed setting is one of the benefits of this time of year. The Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club in Copetown was a great place to relax and enjoy the evening.

Having family and friends nearby for me is a big part of what this time of the year is about. This is a difficult time of the year to lose a parent or a spouse so my feelings go out to Alison Smit's family.   As Barry said in his letter to members, Alison was heavily involved in the Ontario Chapter and she will be missed. CINDE has established a  memorial award in her name.

Another passing to note is Louis Liptak.  I met Louis when I started in the business. He first appeared to be a gruff, hard nosed individual. But over time, I got to know him to be a kind man with a big heart. We had many private conversations about how proud he was of his family.  He too will be missed.

Looking to next year we have re-scheduled the technical discussion on Eddy Current Inspection in Nuclear Steam Generators to be hosted by Intech International in Dundas.  There was tremendous interest in the evening that was canceled back in September. It has been re-scheduled to January 2008.  You can find exact times and directions on the website.  Light refreshments will be served.

We wish you and yours a very healthy safe and prosperous 2008 from all of us on the Ontario Chapter Executive!
